Wallin is the newest Shark

After much speculation and talk of deals (then no deals), Niclas Wallin of the Carolina Hurricanes was officially acquired, along with a fifth-round draft pick, in exchange for a second round draft selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He made his debut as a Shark in last night's 3-2 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wallin brings with him veteran experience to the blue line as well as a Stanley Cup ring that he won with Carolina in 2006 (not to mention he will be Murray's fellow Swede). It appears Sharks GM Doug Wilson wanted to add depth to a blue line missing Vlasic. I hope this turns out to be a good trade and that Wallin will make an impact in the Sharks' quest for the Cup!

Speaking of Sweden, the Sharks confirmed they will be one of 6 NHL teams to open their 2010-11 season in Europe! They will be playing the the Columbus Blue Jackets in Stockholm, Sweden, in October.

Murray is very happy about this

Last night's Sharks @ Toronto game featured goals by Boyle, Pavs, and in the 3rd period, Clowe sealed the deal with his goal. Seto assisted on both Pavs' and Clowe's goal, showing he's getting back into the groove again. This game counted as the Sharks' league-best 20th road game, as they continue to sit atop the Western Conference standings.  Next up, the Sharks face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday and have a rematch with Detroit on Thursday.
